Jackie Chan is a movie star who was born in Hong Kong and has a net worth of £400M.
He is most famous for starring in a number of martial arts and action movies.
His film career has spanned multiple decades and he has always performed his own stunts.
Whilst he is most famous for starring in films, Jackie Chan is also an accomplished singer and has released many albums, as well as performing the theme song for most of his films.

Jackie Chan was born in Hong Kong on 7th April 1954 and his real name is Chan Kong-sang.
Jackie Chan’s childhood nickname was “Pao Pao” becuase he was always full of energy and rolled around his childhood home curled up in a ball.
His parents worked for the French ambassador and he spent some of his childhood growing up on the grounds of the French consul.
Jackie Chan failed his first year of primary school which led him to start at the China Drama Academy.
It is here where he learned acrobatics and martial arts and was outstanding at both.
During his years studying martial arts, Chan earned a black belt in Hapkido, as well as studying Karate, Taekwando, Jeet Kune Do and Judo.
By the late 1970s, Chan was whisked off to Australia where his parents worked for the American embassy.
Although Jackie Chan was still at school, he started appearing in films at the young age of five.
His first big role came when he was eight and starred in the film Big and Little Wong Tin Bar.
After numerous small roles, he signed for the Great Earth Film Company. This proved to be the platform he needed to launch his career into the big time.
Through this agency, he worked as a stuntman in many of Bruce Lee’s most famous films, such Fist of Fury & Enter the Dragon.
This ultimately led to his first-ever major role in a film called Little Tiger of Canton.
By 1976, he started working with director Lo Wei. As Bruce Lee was extremely popular at the time, he wanted to make Jackie Chan the next Bruce Lee.
However, Chan couldn’t effectively copy Bruce Lee’s fighting style so his film New Fist of Fury was a flop.
A big breakthrough in Chan’s career came when he was able to star in a comedy film The Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow.
This film was the beginning of the comedic Kung Fu genre, which was increasing in popularity all the time.
This led to Chan releasing arguably one of his most iconic films, Drunken Master. In this film, he was given the freedom to choreograph his own stunts to show off his impressive skills.
Chan was now starting to become extremely famous and was landing many Hollywood blockbusters such as The Big Brawl and Rumble in The Bronx.
Following the success of those films, in 1998 Chan starred in Rush Hour, alongside Chris Tucker, and become a household name with the film grossing $130M in just the US.
The Rush Hour films turned into a great franchise with Rush Hour 3 grossing $225M, and cumulatively the Rush Hour franchise has grossed $845M to date.
In 2016, Jackie Chan came second in a list of the highest-paid actors in the world. In the year from June 2018 to June 2019, Chan earned £60M from all of his businesses. The following year he earned $40M.
