Jennifer Lawrence was born on August 15, 1990, in Louisville, Kentucky. She has two older brothers called Ben and Blaine.
During her childhood she suffered from both hyperactivity and social anxiety. When she found acting it helped with both of the anxieties.
Whilst she still lived in Kentucky, Lawrence performed in multiple local theatre productions through her school and church.
Lawrence had her first acting role playing a prostitute in a church play when she was only nine years old. For the next few years she continued to act in church plays and musicals.
